It looks like we’ve started 2012 on a high note, as we ring in the new year with one of Hong Kong’s most gracious socialites, Loletta Chu-Lo, on Hong Kong Tatler’s January issue. The Myanmar-born Chu, is one of those icons of Hong Kong that can do no wrong as a result of her charitable endeavours and social grace, and has earned well-deserved respect from the Hong Kong public. Married to Vincent Lo of the Shui On dynasty, she has long used her celebrity status to do good in Hong Kong. Take for example, the Wai Yin Association, a charity organisation Chu and other former Miss Hong Kong title winners founded in the early 1980’s that support the community through charitable works, encourage and host cultural activities and other philanthropic endeavours.

Though Chu won the Miss Hong Kong title 1977 at the age of 18, we learn quite quickly on set that she still has what it takes to charm the lens. Above, we bring you behind-the-scenes to her cover shoot at Chu’s Repulse Bay home, where we discover a woman who quite simply shines a cut above the rest.
