Kicking off the September party season is the annual Hong Kong Tatler Ball 2011. The event is always a blast – or so we’ve been told – as Hong Kong’s elite come together again after a long summer to catch up, mingle and share stories of their holiday adventures amongst one another over champagne, wine, whiskey and cocktails.

This year, Hari Harilela, Christopher and Virginia Chan, Hilton Cheong-Leen and his daughter Flora Cheong-Leen, Timothy Fok and his son Eric, Kevin and Sabrina Lam, Tony and Vanessa Hwang, Victor Lo, Ka Yin Lo, Robert and Sally Lo, Markus and Martina Shaw and Marie-Christine Louey were a few of the big names that were spotted in our black and white-themed ballroom.

A-listers were welcomed with an intimate cocktail, which was followed by a sumptuous dinner accompanied by a series of riveting performances. Starting the night off with a bang was a Thomas Crown Affair-inspired dance performance, followed by a Black Swan ballet performance in line with the theme, and a jewellery and fashion show.

This year, we appointed charity organisation Yan Oi Tong as our main charity beneficiary for the ball, and through a silent auction, we proudly raised an astonishing HK$3million on the night.

To highlight the evening however, was first the award ceremony that saw Charlotte Hwang win the Most Promising Young Woman award. Evan Chow was named Most Eligible Bachelor; Flora Zeta gracefully accepted her Most Stylish Woman accolade; Ka Yin Lo took the Culture award; and the final award went to Christopher and Virginia Chan, who jointly took home the Most Prominent Couple award.
