Owned by the Hong Kong government, this is the official residence of the Secretary of Justice, the current position of which is held by Wong Yan-lung. At 46-years-old, Wong is Hong Kong's youngest Secretary for Justice. Wong comes from a modest background; he grew up in a small flat in Wanchai, and his father sold ice cream for a living. Because of his consistent top marks, Wong secured scholarships every year while studying, and later went on to graduate from Cambridge University with a Bachelor of Arts (Law) and Master of Arts (Law) degree, the latter being conferred without needing further study.

Reportedly, he was given several hundred thousand Hong Kong dollars as a wedding gift from his wife's family, which he, in turn, gave to charities for the homeless.
